Make the Back to School Transition Easier

Many of us are enjoying the sunny PNW evenings and later bedtimes. This often means kids are sleeping in and not ready for earlier school mornings. Not getting enough sleep affects our mood, focus and learning. If your family has been enjoying late summer bedtimes, now is a great time to start adjusting back to a school year routine.

-Take an evening walk. Chambers Lake is beautiful this time of year!

-Create a 30 to 45 minute relaxing night time routine.

-Make night time reading a family habit.

-Limit screens before bed.

-Move bedtime earlier by 10 to 15 minutes every few days.

Good sleep habits can make a difference, but sometimes anxiety and stress are too much to manage. If your child’s worries are becoming overwhelming or interfering with sleep, therapy can provide support before school starts. I offer a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation to answer your questions and help you decide if we are a good fit.  You can schedule your consultation through my secure online calendar.
