The Providence Swedish South Puget Sound’s 2023 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Presentation Hosted by Thurston Thrives

Tuesday, February 20, 2024 (9:30 AM - 11:00 AM) (PST)

Description

Please join us to learn about the results of Providence Swedish South Puget Sound’s 2023 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). Liz Selsor, Community Health Investment Manager, will provide an overview of the report’s findings. During the assessment process, the following health needs emerged across the communities Providence Swedish serves in Thurston and Lewis Counties:

  • Behavioral Health
  • Basic Needs/Economic Security
  • Access to Health Care

Why it's important

The CHNA is an opportunity for Providence St. Peter and Centralia hospitals to engage the community every two to three years with the goal of better understanding community strengths and needs. This process informs the organization’s partnerships, programs, and investments. Improving the health of local communities is fundamental to Providence Swedish’s Mission and deeply rooted in its heritage and purpose.

The Providence Swedish vision, Health for a Better World, is driven by a belief that health is a human right. Every person deserves the chance to live their healthiest life. The organization recognizes that long-standing inequities and systemic injustices exist in the world. This has led to health disparities among communities that have been marginalized because of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion, or socioeconomic status. The Providence Swedish health equity statement can be found online.
