Join the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce for a special Meet the Candidates program at the September Chamber Forum on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Saint Martin’s University’s Norman Worthington Center in Lacey.

This month’s Forum will feature candidates running for state and local offices throughout Thurston County, with a special spotlight on the race for Thurston County Commissioner District 5.

Featured District 5 Candidates

Emily Clouse and Nicolas Martinez-Dunning will share their priorities and perspectives on issues affecting Thurston County businesses, workers and residents.

The conversation will explore topics including:

• Economic vitality and the local business climate
• Housing and affordability
• Infrastructure
• Public services
• Workforce needs
• Quality of life in Thurston County

Doug Mah, Director of the Thurston Chamber’s Public Policy team, will moderate the discussion, giving attendees an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates about the issues and decisions that will help shape the future of our region.

In addition to the featured District 5 race, candidates seeking other state and local offices throughout Thurston County will be invited to attend the Forum and Candidates Reception.

Attendees will have an opportunity to connect directly with candidates and engage in one-on-one conversations about the issues affecting local businesses and communities.
