August Forum and BIPOC Business EXPO: Preserving the Past, Investing in the Future

Wednesday, August 12, 2026 (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM) (PDT)

Description

The Thurston County Chamber invites business and community members to its August Forum on Wednesday, August 12, featuring Olympia Tumwater Foundation Executive Director Todd Cutts, who will present "Olympia Tumwater Foundation: Preserving the Past, Investing in the Future."

Drawing on the Foundation's strategic vision, Cutts will share how the organization is honoring the Schmidt family legacy while preserving the natural beauty, historic significance, and cultural heritage of Brewery Park at Tumwater Falls. His presentation will explore the Foundation's history, its role as a regional leader in historic preservation and environmental education, and its vision for ensuring these treasured community assets continue to inspire future generations.

Attendees will learn about the rich history of the land that is now Brewery Park at Tumwater Falls, the Foundation's ongoing stewardship efforts, and plans for the future, including the proposed History & Nature Center, which will expand opportunities for visitors of all ages to connect with the area's natural environment and remarkable history.

Cutts will also introduce Friends of the Falls, a new community initiative that will invite residents, businesses, and supporters to play an active role in preserving and enhancing Tumwater Falls for generations to come.

Prior to the luncheon, guests are invited to attend the BIPOC Business Expo from 11:00 am to noon, showcasing local BIPOC-owned businesses and entrepreneurs. The expo offers attendees an opportunity to connect with local business owners, discover products and services, and celebrate the diversity of Thurston County's business community.
