About

Thurston Climate Action Team (TCAT) has a mission to partner with our community to build an equitable low-carbon future and to improve climate resilience in Thurston County. TCAT advocates with city and county officials to ensure we meet the emission reduction goals set forth in the Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan, including reducing CO2 emissions by 45% by 2030. We partner with overburdened communities to combat the unequal negative effects of climate change on low-income and BIPOC communities. TCAT educates and prepares citizens in Thurston County to protect themselves from the dangers of climate change, especially extreme heat events. We promote electrification so that we stop using fossil fuels, which have a negative effect on our health, environment, and economy.
