UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION COMMUNICATIONS TRAINING

May 16 - 27, 2022| Nisqually Youth & Community Center | Olympia

FREE TRAINING and ALL GEAR PROVIDED! 

10 - Days | Hands-On | Ages 18+

With funding provided by the PacMtn Workforce Development Council, WorkSource is bringing May 16 - 27, 2022, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Curriculum and trainers are from Redline Training Academy with guest instructors from Vermeer. This is the only training of its kind on the west coast. 

Training participants graduate with certifications in Directional Drill Maintenance & Safety, Ladder Safety and Mini Excavator Maintenance & Safety, and receive extra mentoring and resume building. The last day of class, each student meets with and is interviewed by local construction-industry professionals, who are hiring at a living wage.

Eligible participants should be currently unemployed and looking for employment, are at least 18 years old, able to work on their feet all day, have no employer theft or robbery felonies on their record, can lift/carry 40 to 50 pounds; have a valid driver’s license and have barriers to employment.

This is your chance to explore and learn a multitude of construction industry careers. Not only will you leave with a completed Ladder Safety Certification, but you will also receive Certifications in Directional Drilling Maintenance and Operation and Mini Excavator Maintenance and Operations. You will gain the hands-on skills required within the industry, earning up to $18 to $30 per hour while networking with local construction area professionals, who could be hiring.

From decision making, tools, and techniques, you will learn, first-hand, what people in the construction industry, truly do, each day. You will become more physically fit. You will access professional development through professional mentoring, and resume building. Visit and interact with local Construction industry professionals, make connections, and learn more about their specific trade, what they look for in an employee. In the end, you will develop the knowledge and skills to become viable for a well-paid position within the apprenticeship program and construction industry, while earning certifications to become marketable and employable.

All training will be held at Nisqually Youth & Community Center  in Olympia, Washington. 

Interested parties must submit the online, Underground Communications Construction Form (WorkSource Cohort Application (jotform.com)) and will be contacted by a WorkSource representative to determine program eligibility and walk through the registration process.
