Reimagining Public Safety: Listening & Learning Session
Tuesday, May 17, 2022 (8:00 AM - 10:00 AM) (PDT)
Description
Olympia Businesses and Property Owners:
Let’s Talk Public Safety
The City and a community workgroup are seeking input from businesses and property owners at our next in-person “Listening-and-Learning Session” on Tuesday, May 17 | 8-10 a.m.
Your investment in Olympia is essential to residents’ ability to receive services, earn wages, and experience their community. To help everyone access these, we need to understand how Olympia’s public safety system is experienced by you, your employees, and your customers.
What does feeling safe and being safe mean to you and them?
What should the City keep doing? What could we change?
How will we know if our safety system is improving?
We don’t expect session participants to have all the answers. Professional facilitators will instead create a safe listening and learning opportunity for sharing thoughts and perspectives in small groups. Input collected during the session will not be attributed to any one individual or business. Your participation and insights will help our diverse, nine-member community workgroup form their recommendations to the Olympia City Council later this summer.
